Part-Time Veterinarian Opportunity in Nonprofit HVHQ Spay/Neuter Clinic

We are seeking compassionate, dynamic veterinarians interested in serving the community in a part-time capacity within our clinic. Our part-time veterinarians are essential to our team and play a pivotal role in our ability to provide high-volume spay/neuter surgeries and vaccine clinics to pet owners, local rescues, and community cat caretakers in Nashville.

What Does It Mean to Join Pet Community Center in this Capacity?

  • You are a skilled surgeon capable of performing spay/neuter surgeries in a high-volume clinic (up to 30 surgeries per day).

  • You are a compassionate vet who likes working with pets to administer vaccinations, boosters, microchips, and general wellness services (up to 37 pets per day).

  • You have a flexible schedule that allows you to work in our clinic multiple days per month.

  • You like the flexibility of performing spay/neuter surgery one day and then seeing wellness patients on another.

  • You share our belief that all people and pets should be treated with dignity and respect and that they should have access to affordable, high-quality veterinary care.

  • You will report to the Medical Director.

What Does a Typical Day Look Like?

  • Our clinic is open Monday through Thursday. Our surgical vet arrives at 7:30 AM, and our wellness vet arrives at 8 AM.

  • Surgeries begin around 8:30 AM and usually conclude around 3:30 PM.

  • Wellness appointments begin at 8:30 AM and conclude around 3:00 PM.

  • Part-time vets receive $500-550 per day.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree

  • Current TN veterinary license

  • Demonstrated excellent surgical skills

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
