NASHVILLE, Tenn. – In conjunction with International Cat Day on August 8, 2025, Pet Community Center (PCC), Davidson County’s only nonprofit veterinary clinic, announces a milestone: since its inception in 2011, the nonprofit has provided trap-neuter-return (TNR) services for more than 25,000 cats through its Community Cat Program

In addition to preventing the birth of millions of outdoor cats in our community, PCC’s TNR program has led to at least a 33% reduction in stray cat intakes at Metro Animal Care and Control.

The Community Cat Program provides a strategic approach to humanely managing outdoor cat populations through targeting and data analysis. This year alone, PCC has already spayed/neutered over 1,100 outdoor cats and plans to provide TNR services for at least 2,300 community cats in Davidson County before December 31, 2025.  The Community Cat Program is free to Davidson County residents, with a suggested donation of $30 per community cat.

In honor of the milestone, Pet Community Center invites anyone wishing to celebrate by purchasing an I "Heart" Feral Cats t-shirt online or make a donation toward the program.

Brandon Dyce, Pet Community Center’s president/CEO, commented, “We could not be more excited to achieve this milestone. Our Community Cat Program, which is an integral part of our mission, has made a real and lasting contribution to both the people and the animals in our community. Not only does our Community Cat Program make an immeasurable difference in humanely managing our city’s outdoor cat population, but it also helps ease the burden on our animal rescue partners.

“Through the help of a community of caring animal advocates and passionate volunteers, Pet Community Center has grown from a grassroots spay/neuter financial aid program into a thriving veterinary clinic that has made great strides towards preventing pet overpopulation, protecting the health of dogs and cats—and keeping pets in loving homes and out of shelters and rescues.”
