WHO WE ARE

Pet Community Center is a nonprofit on a mission to make high-quality spay/neuter and veterinary care affordable and accessible to all pet owners. We manage a high-quality spay/neuter surgery center in East Nashville and a Mobile Wellness clinic that provides basic wellness care to pets in underserved areas. Since 2011, Pet Community Center has served more than 80,000 animals.

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for supporting fundraising efforts.   Assist in PCC’s efforts to raise funds from a diverse base of sources, including events, monthly giving, online giving, third-party events, and other methods.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  1. Coordinate the production of large-scale appeals and meet established fundraising goals. Create and implement strategic fundraising messages on donor segmentation and research. Oversee the development of materials for fundraising campaigns and appeal.

  2. Plan and execute special events from start to finish. Support committees responsible for auctions, sponsorships, venue, registration, décor, and volunteers.  Identify volunteer needs for events. Ensure that all event requirements for insurance, permits, and licenses have been met.  Maintain guest lists, gather and prepare registration materials. Oversee the process of thanking all donors and participants.

  3. Write grants and manage grant schedules and reporting. Candidate must have a proven history of either grant writing or the equivalent of proposal/creative writing in past employment.

  4. Coordinate and grow the recurring gift program for donors and provide monthly donor stewardship.

  5. Manage the development database and conduct prospective donor research.  Maintain foundation, corporate and individual donor entries in the donor software system. This role is responsible for becoming an expert in using this tool and ensuring the cleanliness of data entered into the system.  Manage gift-in-kind inventory and acknowledgments. Train and support other users of Neon.

  6. Oversee donor stewardship, including the donation receipt process and a donor acknowledgment plan.  Create monthly fundraising reports and other database reports as needed for staff and board review.

  7. Recruit and engage volunteers for fundraising.  Manage volunteers during fundraising events.

  8. Ability to think creatively about diversifying events and donor stewardship to keep the fundraising strategy fresh and relevant and to contribute to the annual fundraising strategy with the Development team.

  9. Identify and administer third party fundraising events and activities.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

  1. Bachelor's Degree

  2. Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in nonprofit development

  3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite

  4. Proficiency and willingness to develop skills in content management, online fundraising platforms, and donor management software

  5. Excellent verbal and written communications skills

  6. Ability to present information concisely and effectively, both verbally and in writing

  7. Ability to organize and prioritize work and to work independently

  8. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position is scheduled for 5 days/week, Monday-Friday.  The schedule can change and may regularly require evening and weekend hours.
